My Profile
I am a watercolorist who specializes in landscapes, flowers and whatever catches my imagination. I see art as being informed by an interaction between the act of painting and nature itself. An example of this is my use of natural pigments in paintings that I collect while hiking.
My love of creating art began when I was a child and introduced to the vibrant colors of southwestern canyons and the blue skies of New Mexico. Primarily self-taught, I have been fortunate to participate in several workshops and study under remarkable teachers who have introduced me to innovative approaches that have enriched my art. Currently, I am studying Asian art with an emphasis on the use of Sumi-ink and watercolors on rice paper.
My paintings have been exhibited at various venues such as the annual Colorado Springs neighborhood art walk, the Colorado Springs Mardi Gras exhibit at the Commonwheel Gallery and at the Pikes Peak Watercolor Society members’ art show.
My art in the selected works section consists of paintings on cards and paintings from 4x6, 8x10 to 24x36 inches. For specific information, please email me at Lunawatercolors@gmail.com.
